The construction of this organ was made possible by a bequest and so the organ will be called the Fred and Hannah Coope Memorial Organ.

The organ which stood in the previous church on this site was built about 90 years ago by Wadsworth and Company. The original name plate has been preserved and is kept inside the new organ. The old instrument consisted of:

Oak and Ash case and panelling. Carved pipe shades by Derek Riley depicting scenes relating to St. Peter.

The organ’s playing action is all mechanical, the manual keyboards having "suspended" tracker action. The pitch is A=440; the tuning system is equal temperament.

The instrument was constructed in Charsfield near Woodbridge, Suffolk by Roger Pulham and Colin Lockwood in 1988. The panelling to the case was made by Robert Cubitt Ltd. of Ipswich. The new pipes and repairs to the old were carried out by F.J. Rogers Ltd. of Leeds.

Installation began in September 1988. The final adjustments, and installation of the pipe shade carving were carried out in the summer of 1990. The consultant to the church was Michael Sayer.

The design and voicing were by Roger Pulham.
